Lo que pienso de: La Daga

4.5 estrellas

Este libro estuvo significativamente mejor que el primero. No sé si se debe a que al haber leído el primero ya había visto la película. Pero de cualquier forma, La Daga es una secuela increíble. Es un libro lleno de aventuras, de sorpresas y de emociones.

Lo que pienso de: Cuentos Orientales

Mi cuento favorito de esta compilación fue el de "La leche de la muerte". Dicho esto, no me agradó mucho el papel de la mujer en estos cuentos. Otro de los cuentos que más me gustó fue el de "El hombre que amó a las Nereidas". Algo que noté, es que la escritura va mejorando conforme avanzan los textos.

Lo que pienso de: Nocturna

Hay muchos paralelos con la historia de Drácula: 
*Profesor extranjero que mata vampiros: Van Helsing/ Setrakian
*Hay un "sirviente" del vampiro amor: Renfield/Palmer
*Alguien ayuda al vampiro a viajar de un continente a otro llevando el ataúd con tierra. 

En fin, este libro tuvo un inicio súuuuuuper lento, realmente nada ocurría sino como hasta la página 160. El desarrollo de los personajes no fue muy claro, por ejemplo, se supone que Nora es uno de los principales y no es desarrollada en absolutamente nada. De hecho, considero que es un problema en muchos personajes de este libro, porque los únicos que parece que no son planos son Eph y Setrakian. 

Algunos pasajes me gustaban, tenían la capacidad de poder ser cuentos de terror bastante buenos. 

Le di ...3 de 5 estrellas... porque a partir de la página 150 es entretenido. Continuaré la trilogía porque ya tengo el segundo libro, pero no es algo que me urja de momento.

Thoughts on: The Ocean at the End of the Lane

This was my first audiobook ever. 

The ocean at the end of the lane has a gorgeous writing style and I think it is
really cool that it was Neil himself the one narrating his book. 

I do not know if it was because of the format of the book but sometimes I just got distracted while listening and stop making sense out of the words. Nonetheless, it has kind of surreal type to it, as well as paranormal. However, I liked the way it deals with the differences of being an adult vs being a kid. 

Thought on: The Night Circus

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern was my first read of the year. And I must say, it was completely amazing. The Night Circus is a whimsical, magical awesome novel, with marvelous characters, detailed settings and lots and lots of magic. I am not exagerating when I say it is going to be one of my favorite books of 2015. I can already tell that. Way to start the reading year!

The Night Circus has a complicated plot, at least to explain. It takes place in two different times and both stories are developed neatly, coming to form a bow at the end. I can only say it is preferable to go into this book blindsighted. You do not really need to know anything, it will be for the best, and you will fall in love with it, just as I did.

Needless to say, I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars. Totally a recomendable read.
